Mr Ibrahim Mahama, owner of the construction company, Engineers and Planners and a brother of former President John Mahama has been granted bail after an arrest on Tuesday by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The reasons for Mr Mahama's arrest has not been officially made public but Graphic Online gathers it is in relation to an alleged dud cheque issued to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) with regards to some goods cleared at the Tema Port.
He was reportedly granted bail after EOCO had interrogated him on Tuesday with regards to the cheque for the goods which were reportedly cleared in 2016.
The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr Kennedy Agyapong has for several weeks alleged that Mr Ibrahim issued a dud cheque to the Customs division of the GRA.
Mr Agyapong has subsequently been on a media crusade on several platforms agitating that EOCO should investigate Mr Ibrahim.
