VIP Jeoun Transport Limited, in partnership with Vivo Energy Ghana, has introduced a new terminal at the Airport Shell Fuel station to provide exclusive services to commuters from Accra to Kumasi.
Dubbed: ‘Premium Centre’, the terminal is expected to provide commuters with free WiFi services, executive passenger waiting area, free luggage space and a night police escort, all at a cost of GH¢65 per passenger per trip.
At the launch on April 11, in Accra, the Operations Manager of VIP Jeoun Transport, Mr Dennis Kusi, said the service was introduced as a niche market to provide commuters with some level of comfort and luxury.
“With the opening of the VIP Premium Services at the Airport Shell, we hope to bring to our travelling public a new dimension to travel with less stress in accessing our major terminal and also to provide convenience to persons connecting from the Kotoka International Airport to other locations,” he stated.
He observed that commuters who would use the Airport Shell terminal would have two options on their travel plans, either to choose the pre-booked buses or on the go.
Partnership
According to Mr Kusi, that day marked another significant milestone in the business transformation process of VIP Jeoun Transport as it partnered with Vivo Energy Ghana to provide exclusive services to commuters from Accra to Kumasi.
He explained that the partnership, which was a 50/50 agreement between the two entities, would help VIP Jeoun Transport expand its operations across the West African sub-region.
The Retail Manager at Vivo Energy, Mr Kwame Ackah, stated that the partnership was a clear indication of Vivo Energy Ghana’s commitment to invest in the country and support the government’s plans to grow the private sector.
“This partnership comes closely on the heels of a recent partnership between Vivo Energy and Modex to get closer to our customers,” he added.
“Shell agreed to a partnership with VIP because it is a well-established and fast-growing transport company under the management of VIP Jeoun Limited. VIP has provided reliable, expedient and comfortable services to commuters since its establishment in 2008, and we believe this partnership will go a long way to make customers of both parties very happy,” he said.
Driving patronage
Mr Ackah noted that Shell brings on board years of quality fuel, lubricants and shop management expertise that will further drive patronage for this maiden VIP premium service.
“Our leadership in matters of health, safety, security and the environment will also be embedded to ensure customer safety and comfort when they come to Airport City Shell to board these VIP buses,” he noted.
He said currently, the majority of Shell stations in Ghana operate convenience retail stores and accept Shell cards. Card payment options were recently enhanced with the introduction of a Visa-enabled multipurpose card, Ezypass Fuel Card.
