According to sources, the game will take place on July 1 at the Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut.
The clash will afford new Ghana coach, Kwasi Appiah the opportunity to gain a measure of revenge on the Americans after the Black Stars lost 2-1 to them under his stewardship at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Prior to that loss, the Black Stars were undefeated in their two previous meetings winning by the same 2-1 score at the respective 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups.
In 2006, Ghana progressed from Group E alongside Italy at the expense of the Americans courtesy a late penalty by Stephen Appiah after Clint Dempsey had cancelled-out Haminu Dramani's early strike.
In 2010, Asamoah Gyan's settled the Round of 16 tie in extra-time after Landon Donovan equalised Kevin-Prince Boateng's goal.
The Americans will also play a friendly against Venezuela on June 3 at the Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.
The USA will host the CONCACAF Gold Cup ( the biennial international men's football championship of the North, Central American and Caribbean)between July 7-26.
