President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will present the State of the Nation address to Parliament tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
This is in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, which states that the President shall deliver a message on the State of the Nation to Parliament at the start of each session and before the dissolution of Parliament.
The address is expected to highlight the government’s key policy objectives for the year, as well as provide information on how the government intends to address current economic conditions.
Announcing the update in Parliament earlier in February, the then Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, said, “Mr speaker in accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution, H.E the President will deliver to the house a message on the State of the Nation on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Honourable Members are entreated to avail themselves for the task ahead.”
This will be President Akufo-Addo’s penultimate address to Parliament.
