BrainWave Africa Tech has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management, which puts the one-year-old wholly Ghanaian technology firm on the pedestal, firmly positioned to compete in both African and global markets.

The ISO 9001 establishes and continuously improve Quality Management System (QMS) that enables organisations to consistently meet customer requirements, comply with regulatory standards and enhance operational efficiency.
The standard emphasises customer satisfaction, structured process nanagement, risk-based thinking and leadership accountability. This guides how the company plans, delivers, measures and improves its services across both public and private sector.
Speaking at the launch, the Founder and CEO of BrainWave AfricaTech, Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh, said the achievement of ISO 9001 in just over one year of operations is a powerful statement of her company’s commitment to quality, and validates the internal processes of the company.
“From inception, we made a deliberate choice to build BrainWave on globally recognised standards. This certification affirms our commitment to quality, accountability and continuous improvement as we support Africa’s digital transformation at scale,” she said.

The Innovation and Product Development Lead at BrainWave Africa Tech, Caleb Jimoh, said the certification serves as external confirmation of the company’s internal standards, while expressing the company’s commitment to continuous improvement.
“It’s just about ensuring or validating the systems that we already have in place. It’s just to certify them and put a ribbon on what we have already accomplished,” he said.
According to him, the ISO 9001 designation assures clients that whenever they engage with BrainWave on projects, they will receive services meeting internationally recognised quality benchmarks.
The Business Development Manager, Emmanuel Peprah Ankomah, said the certification reinforces the company’s mandate to serve as a trusted advisor rather than a simple solution provider.
“For us at BrainWave, the quality management standard now becomes even a standard in organisation. The question is, do you operate in a way that makes your clients feel okay? Can your clients go to sleep at night? That’s what BrainWave is here to do,” he noted.

Referencing partnerships with Microsoft, IBM, Dell and PwC, Mr. Jimoh revealed plans to expand into Kenya and Nigeria in the coming years.
However, he acknowledged significant hurdles facing tech ecosystem in the country, particularly around workforce development as Africa prepares to host a majority of the global working population within the next two decades amid the AI boom.
“How do we mobilise them? How do we upskill them? How do we create capacity building within our own environment to help boost that surge of AI and innovation that’s passing through the world? How do we become builders and not just use tools?” Mr. Jimoh quizzed.
He, therefore, noted BrainWave is “100 percent” ready to compete globally, adding: “Rome wasn’t built in a day. Even though the certification is a good milestone, there’s a lot more we can do to improve.”
The company’s long-term goal, he said, “is to be the best, the trusted partner for digital transformation in Africa and beyond.”
