Montage Gold Corp. announces the acquisition of African Gold Limited, an Australian company involved in gold exploration in Côte d’Ivoire. This acquisition marks a new milestone in Montage Gold’s long-term commitment to the country and reinforces its ambition to become a major player in the West African mining sector. Through this transaction, Montage Gold integrates the Didievi project, a highly promising site located in central Côte d’Ivoire, thus strengthening its portfolio of ongoing development projects.
Since the beginning of their partnership in March 2025, Montage Gold has been actively working on the Didievi project through various geological studies and an advanced drilling program. These efforts have provided a deeper understanding of the site’s potential and confirmed the strategic importance of this project within the company’s portfolio.
This acquisition comes at a time when Côte d’Ivoire is emerging as one of the most attractive mining destinations on the continent, supported by its political stability and growing economy. For Montage Gold, it represents an ideal environment to invest, collaborate, and build sustainable projects that support both the group’s vision and the country’s development.
Martino De Ciccio, President and Chief Executive Officer of Montage Gold Corp., states:
“While the construction of our Koné project continues to progress on budget and on schedule, we are pleased to further strengthen our portfolio with the addition of the Didievi project, thereby consolidating our presence in Côte d’Ivoire. This transaction supports our strategy to develop a leading African gold producer capable of creating value for our shareholders while reinforcing our commitment to Côte d’Ivoire, a country offering a stable and attractive investment environment.”
Montage Gold also reaffirms its commitment to working hand in hand with local communities, regional authorities, and all stakeholders. The company adopts a collaborative approach focused on building win-win relationships to generate positive impact in the areas where it operates and contribute to long-term local development.
Meanwhile, the Koné project — Montage Gold’s flagship project currently under construction — is advancing according to the planned schedule and budget, with production expected to start in 2027. The addition of the Didievi project further strengthens the group’s growth strategy and consolidates Côte d’Ivoire’s central role in its operations across Africa.
