The Creatives Connect Afrika is the inaugural Festival & Forum designed to spotlight Africa’s creative industries as catalysts for trade and continental integration. The AfCFTA Creative Connect Africa festival which seeks to unite Africa’s creative minds to build a prosperous future through innovation, cultural exchange, and economic integration will be hosted in La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra, Ghana from 24 – 26 November 2025. The groundbreaking event brings together, creatives, investors, industry leaders and policy makers for dialogue, deal-making, and celebration.
Creative Connect Afrika 2025 is said to be more than just a festival but a dynamic movement celebrating Africa’s vibrant creative economy through film, fashion, music and so on. It is expected to be thrilling with immersive experience featuring screenings, masterclasses, industry networking, and electrifying performances that showcase Africa’s rich storytelling, innovative design, and powerful sounds. It will connect talent to trade, culture to opportunity, and creativity to commerce in a celebration that bridges countries and ignites collaborations.
Ghanaians and Africans are encouraged to embrace and participate in the upcoming inaugural Creative Connect Afrika festival from Monday November 24, 2025, for an unforgettable experience.
Earlier, the AfCFTA Secretariat in collaboration with the Black Star Experience Secretariat and Africa Tourism Partners had an official Media Launch in Accra, Ghana and followed up with roadshows in Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana, Tamale, the largest city in Northern Ghana and Lagos, the Capital of Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy and the most populous country on the continent with a vibrant creative sector cutting across film, music, fashion and media.
The Lagos launch followed a successful roadshow engagement in Tamale and Kumasi in Ghana, demonstrating the partnership’s commitment to inclusive pan-African mobilisation. Each city has contributed unique perspectives, with Lagos highlighting commercial scale and global creative influence.
Rex Owusu Marfo, a renowned Ghanaian musician popularly known as Rex Omar and the coordinator of the Black Star Experience Secretariat drew on his Samburu heritage to illustrate the transformative power of African creativity and the importance of bringing it all together.
“When I think of my childhood, I remember evenings under the stars where stories were not just told around the fireside, they were sung, they were danced, and they were worn,” he shared, describing how cultural songs, dances, and traditional dress carried history across generations. “These are not just stories; they are instruments of power.” He highlights.
Mrs. Emily Mburu-Ndoria, Director for Trade in Services at the AfCFTA Secretariat, emphasised the critical role of the creative sectors in Africa’s economic future.
“The tourism, creative and cultural sectors are not just industries; they are the heartbeat of our economies, the custodians of our heritage, and a driving force for inclusion and innovation,” she stated
Creatives Connect Afrika is designed to bridge creativity and opportunity through skills development, market access, intellectual property protection, and financing mechanisms. Under the AfCFTA Protocol on Trade in Services, where creative sectors are prioritised for progressive liberalisation, recognising Africa’s creative economy as one of the fastest growing in the world.
