The Achimota Retail Centre has kicked off this year’s Black Friday celebrations with a bang, launching a thrilling two-week Sidewalk Sale.
The sale, which runs until November 30, promises to deliver an exceptional shopping experience, extending the festive cheer and heightening the joy of shopping at the centre.”
The Sidewalk Sale will merge with the Centre’s usually animated Black Friday shopping fiesta on November 28, promising an unforgettable shopping experience for customers and revellers. This year’s Black Friday sales carnival is set against the backdrop of ARC’s jubilant 10th anniversary which saw many customers being rewarded for their loyalty and patronage.
“Black Friday is all about making goods and services available and particularly affordable to our cherished customers. Our stores are ready and extremely excited….and that’s why we decided to kick off the festival early with a Sidewalk sale,” Marketing Manager Linda Pappoe told reporters, adding that most of the shops intend to keep their deals and discount offers running till the end of November.
A quick tour of some stores confirmed incredible price cuts across the board. Shoprite has announced price cuts of up to 50% on a wide range of grocery and goods on sale, while the general merchandise store, Melcom, has literally declared a unilateral ‘black out’ on its prices – referring to the 50% price cuts on a long list of items, effective since November 13.
The jewellery specialist Bijou, has announced its own two-day ‘super-sale,’ from 27th to 29th November, for a select range of products, but is offering an astounding 20% discount on its diamond stock, along with complimentary polishing and repairs for customers up till December 10. Pacific Fashion is offering up to 50% discounts on selected items, while MRP has put up a new range of discounts under its famous ‘Prices Just Got Better’ mantra.
Since the sidewalk sale opened, mobile phone outlet Telefonika has unveiled incredible price cuts of up to 70%. Its Sony SR-UTL100 Bluetooth speaker for example, which has been selling for Ghc 24,900 all year round, is now on the shelf for just Ghc16,900. It has also announced up to 50% cuts in the prices of a number of items including all Bose products and the PlayStation 5 and its accessories.
Ghana’s premiere retail outlet for IT products and accessories CompuGhana on the other hand, has launched a juicy “Cashback Sale Festival” promo in which shoppers make huge savings on their purchases, as well as stand a chance of winning a brand new car.
Dreamland Fashion has knocked down prices from 5% up to 20% on selected items including handbags and footwear, Gamel Clodin is offering price cuts of up to 30%, while Divine Organic Hub, the herbal and organic supplement store has discounted the prices of a range of rare dietary supplements by up to 20%. Starlite, has announced ‘hyper deals’ and is urging prospective shoppers to unlock exclusive discounted offers on a wide range of electronic and networking devices and home appliances, including heavy duty Bruhm TV sets and Air Conditioners.
Arriving just in time for the carnival are two new members of ARC’s family of tenants, Nart Kiddies Care and Hollard Insurance, who have already announced that their doors are wide open to patrons seeking top-end goods and services at incredibly affordable rates.
As always, ARC’s huge clientele of kids and young adults have not been side-lined in the Black Friday fiesta. ARA, the children’s recreational hub and playground announced a 50% discount on all games on Black Friday and a further 25% to 40% cut on the prices of all party gear, packaging bags and boxes.
Food vendor, Sweet Roses is offering free spring rolls to customers who buy food and drinks worth Ghc100 and Barcelos is offering diners a 10% discount flash sales between 12noon and 2:00pm on Black Friday, November 28.
