… unveils two electric powered vehicles
EV House LTD has officially inaugurated its operations in Ghana, unveiling two electric vehicles (EVs) aimed at redefining the country’s automotive landscape and advancing sustainable mobility.
The launch, held at the company’s East Legon headquarters, introduced the Geely Riddara RD6 and the Geely Geome Panda Mini.
The event drew a range of industry stakeholders and showcased the growing interest in electric vehicles and cleaner transportation solutions in the country.
Speaking at the launch, Founder and Chief Executive, Edward T. Hightower outlined EV House’s vision for Ghana’s EV industry, stressing the company’s commitment to cleaner transportation and local industry development.
“Our mission at EV House is to empower Ghanaians to drive the future, a future that is cleaner, more efficient, and proudly made for Africa. We are not just selling cars; we are building an ecosystem that connects Ghana to the global electric vehicle industry. Together, we can make Ghana a leader in sustainable transportation across the continent,” he said.
He explained that EV House LTD, a subsidiary of Accra EV (GH) LTD, a company focused on electric car and pickup truck marketing, fleet management, and e-mobility solutions.
Mr. Hightower, a global automotive executive with more than 30 years of experience in engineering, marketing, industrialisation, and business leadership at companies including Ford, BMW, and GM, added that its mission is to accelerate the adoption of EVs among businesses, governments, and individual consumers, offering fleet solutions that enable customers to “do more and spend less.”
The automotive industry veteran –who also spent three years turning around a struggling start-up EV manufacturer in the United States as CEO and President, and is the author of Motoring Africa: Sustainable Automotive Industrialisation, published in 2018 – said that launch will drive Ghana’s transition to electric mobility while creating local employment, fostering innovation, and supporting the development of a sustainable automotive ecosystem.
Models
The Geely Riddara RD6, described by EV House as the most functional EV in Ghana, combines luxury, performance, and practicality. It features a dual-motor 4×4 configuration, a 424 km driving range on a full charge, and a 15 kW plug-in mobile power system capable of powering tools, appliances, and equipment.
The RD6 is positioned as a suitable option for government fleets, logistics operators, and businesses seeking high-performance, sustainable mobility solutions.
The Geely Geome Panda Mini, marketed as the most accessible EV in Ghana, offers a range of up to 200 km and can be charged from standard outlets. Compact, efficient, and affordable, it accommodates four passengers and is intended for city driving, corporate fleets, municipal services, and small businesses seeking cost-effective, low-emission transportation.
Mr. Hightower reaffirmed EV House’s commitment to environmental stewardship and technological advancement, positioning the company as a key contributor to Ghana’s green industrial transformation.
