The Faculty of Accounting and Finance (FAF) at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has unveiled five distinguished business leaders as recipients of its inaugural FAF Eminent Achievement Award, set for presentation on November 13, 2025.
The recognition celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to Ghana’s financial and business landscape while exemplifying leadership, innovation, and professional excellence. The awardees include Chief Alhassan Andani, Founder of LVSafrica Limited and former Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Bank Ghana; Frank Adu Jnr, former Managing Director of CalBank; Dr. Edward Effah, Chairman of Fidelity Bank Ghana; and Kwasi Winfred Dodzih, Permanent Secretary General of the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme.
According to the Faculty, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry through dialogue, mentorship, and collaboration. Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Isaac Boadi, said the awards reflect UPSA’s broader vision of aligning academic training with real-world industry needs.
“These honorees have not only built successful careers but have also contributed immensely to the development of Ghana’s financial sector and inspired younger professionals,” he said. The event will feature an awards ceremony, keynote address, and a dinner.
UPSA officials said the selection of honorees was based on long-standing service of at least 20 years, peer recognition, and alignment with UPSA’s values of scholarship and professionalism.
By recognizing leaders who have shaped the country’s banking, insurance, and finance sectors, FAF hopes to inspire the next generation of professionals to pursue excellence and ethical leadership.
The university said the Eminent Achievement Award will become an annual event to celebrate exceptional individuals who demonstrate a sustained record of excellence and make measurable contributions to Ghana’s economic progress.
