The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) has celebrated the outstanding achievements of industry leaders at its 36th Annual National Marketing Performance Awards in Accra.
The night’s biggest honours went to Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay, Executive Chairman of JL Holdings, who was crowned Marketing Man of the Year, and Mrs. Mansa Nettey, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank, named Marketing Woman of the Year.
In addition, Asiedua Addae of Standard Chartered Bank was recognised as Marketing Practitioner of the Year, while Benedicta Nyame of the University of Media Arts and Communication emerged Marketing Student of the Year, underscoring the Institute’s commitment to nurturing young talent alongside established professionals.
The ceremony, held under the theme “Repositioning Brand Ghana: Marketing for Economic Growth and Transformation”, also inducted Melcom Ghana into the prestigious Hall of Fame, Elite Category (10 years and above).
In the below 10 years category, brands such as Vanguard Assurance, SIC Life, Japan Motors, Ecobank Ghana PLC, Goil PLC, MTN Ghana, and TotalEnergies Ghana were celebrated for their consistency in marketing excellence.
Beyond the awards, CIMG used the platform to advocate for stronger integration of marketing expertise in national governance. National President Michael Abbiw urged government to adopt a policy mandating the inclusion of marketing professionals on state and public sector boards.
He stressed that marketing is the bridge to reposition Brand Ghana and drive economic growth.
“In an era marked by global uncertainty and rapid change, repositioning Brand Ghana has never been more urgent. Marketing is the bridge that will carry Ghana from potential to prosperity and from local to global markets,” he said.
The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, in a speech read on his behalf, reinforced government’s recognition of marketing as a vital driver of economic progress, noting its role in supporting the reset agenda and the 24-hour economy policy.
With its celebration of both industry veterans and rising stars, the 36th CIMG Awards reaffirmed the Institute’s role as a catalyst for marketing excellence and national transformation.
