OX Delivers, a UK-based electric vehicle startup, and Wahu Mobility, Ghana’s leading electric bike manufacturer, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance electric mobility solutions across West Africa.
The partnership, announced on September 16, 2025, aims to make clean and affordable transport more accessible to businesses and communities in the region.
Additionally, it seeks to leverage Wahu’s scalable manufacturing capabilities and OX Delivers’ purpose-built electric trucks to address the growing demand for sustainable transport solutions.
The partnership will also explore new revenue streams, particularly in agriculture, where electric vehicles can play a transformative role.
Both companies share a mission to transform the continent’s transport sector, which is currently reliant on expensive and polluting vehicles.
Simon Davis, CEO and Co-Founder of OX Delivers, emphasised the importance of the partnership, noting that Wahu Mobility’s local expertise will help accelerate growth plans in new markets.

Valerie Labi, Co-Founder and CEO of Wahu Mobility, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting OX Delivers’ experience in transport service as a valuable asset for future initiatives.
Wahu Mobility has made significant strides in the e-mobility space with its locally designed and manufactured electric bikes. The company offers a flexible “ride-to-own” payment scheme, making e-bikes accessible to last-mile delivery riders and transforming gig workers into mobility entrepreneurs.
It also provides a comprehensive ecosystem of services, including maintenance, insurance, and access to charging infrastructure, all managed through its Wahu Hero App. It also has partnered with major mobility platforms like Bolt, Yango, and Uber to offer plug-and-play electric fleets.

With this agreement, both companies are poised to expand their impact across Africa, targeting a goods transport industry valued at US$280 billion and serving billions of people in the Global South who lack access to affordable and sustainable transport.

About Wahu Mobility
Wahu Mobility, headquartered in Accra, Ghana, is a pioneering manufacturer of affordable, durable, and connected electric bikes and small EVs. With Ghana’s first EV assembly plant, Wahu is scaling production to serve thousands of riders, supported by innovations in swappable batteries, GPS tracking, and ride-to-own financing.
The company was co-founded by CEO Valerie Labi, an entrepreneur recognised for driving sustainable and inclusive African-led innovation. Upon moving to Ghana, she soon realised how expensive and unreliable transport was. She began buying secondhand push bikes and converting them into ebikes for sale: four years later Wahu has produced its own licensed ebike, launched a delivery platform, and opened an assembly plant in Accra.
