MobileMoney Limited (MoMo), an affiliate of MTN Ghana, has unveiled the MoMo Business Application (App) – a new digital solution designed to make financial management for merchants simple and aid the development of small medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the country.
The Chief Products and Services Officer – MobileMoney Limited, Sylvia Otuo Acheampong, made this announcement during the official opening of DigiFest 2025 at MTN House in Accra.
She said: “This strategic step forms part of MTN’S blueprint to accelerate Ghana’s digital transformation and promote financial inclusion.”
The MoMo Business App is available for free on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It gives merchants the opportunities to: Accept payments effortlessly through Quick Response (QR) codes; Track transactions and revenue in real time; create and send invoices electronically; access detailed financial reports and analytics for decision-making; and comes with a secure and user-friendly interface.
Ms. Acheampong further added that the app signifies a landmark in MTN’S goal to assist businesses with digital tools that promote efficiency and competitiveness.
“We believe that merchants are the driving force of the country’s economy; therefore, running a business should be easier, smarter and faster. This app gives them more control over their finances, enhances customer experience and opens up new growth opportunities,” she underscored.
She explained that integrating the app into our daily tasks will help SMEs to reduce costs, build resilience in an increasingly digital marketplace and improve transparency in transactions. Also by leveraging digital innovation, businesses can stay competitive, improve operations and drive digital growth, according to her.
To her, making the MoMo Business App the central hub for merchant financial management would help build a stronger, more inclusive ecosystem where businesses can thrive. She said every merchant that uses this app contributes to long-term financial inclusion, and ensures that digital tools serve every sector of Ghana’s economy.
