The Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) has extended support to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, with a donation aimed at assisting the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan.
A delegation from BOST, representing Managing Director Afetsi Awoonor, presented essential food items, including bags of rice, sugar, tins of milk, cartons of tea, tomato paste, gallons of cooking oil and Milo, along with a cash donation.
The contribution sought to support the Chief Imam’s office in providing for the less privileged during the fasting period.
Receiving the donation at his residence in Accra, Sheikh Sharubutu expressed deep gratitude for BOST’s generosity. He offered prayers for the company’s leadership and employees, asking for divine blessings and continued success.
“This act of kindness will go a long way in supporting many people in need during Ramadan,” a representative from the Chief Imam’s office said.
BOST’s gesture aligns with its corporate social responsibility commitments, emphasising community support and religious harmony. The company has consistently contributed to various social causes, reinforcing its role beyond the energy sector and into national development.
BOST is now under the leadership of Afetsi Awoonor, a veteran energy sector executive with extensive Sub-Saharan trading experience, serving as its seventh Managing Director.
In a recent engagement, Sheikh Sharubutu also paid a significant visit to BOST’s head office in Accra, underscoring the strong relationship between the company and Ghana’s Muslim community. During his interactions, he highlighted the importance of trust and unity in national development.
Ramadan is a time of reflection, compassion and generosity. And the officials at BOST noted that the initiative demonstrates the spirit of unity in Ghana’s diverse society.
