Fidelity Bank, Ghana’s largest privately-owned Ghanaian bank, has reaffirmed its steadfast dedication to the advancement of healthcare infrastructure in Ghana with a substantial donation to the Presbyterian Health Service, Agogo Hospital. This generous donation was made in response to a passionate appeal from the hospital to renovate its CT Scan room, ultimately enhancing the quality and efficiency of its services.
The Agogo Hospital, operated by the Presbyterian Health Service, is the second largest hospital in the Ashanti Region and serves as a referral centre for a catchment population of approximately 500,000 people. It has undergone a recent upgrade to a secondary facility, necessitating renovations across its service points to align with the new status.
For years, patients in and around Asante Akyem Agogo requiring advanced diagnostics for their conditions have been compelled to travel to Kumasi and Accra. Recognizing the urgency of the situation and the critical role the Agogo Hospital plays in providing essential healthcare services to the community, Fidelity Bank swiftly stepped forward to offer support.
This generous contribution supported the renovation of the CT Scan Room, elevating the standard and efficacy of the service while prioritizing the safety and comfort of both patients and staff. This initiative also represents a crucial step forward in their ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services to the local community.
Julian Opuni, Managing Director at Fidelity Bank, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are committed to supporting the communities in which we operate, and we are delighted to support the Agogo Hospital with this donation, as part of our commitment to supporting healthcare delivery in Ghana.
We believe that access to quality healthcare is a basic human right, and we are proud to partner with institutions like the Presbyterian Health Service that share this vision. We hope that this donation will help the hospital provide better service to their patients and communities.”
In response to Fidelity Bank’s generous support, Rev. Ezekiel Amadu Daribi, the General Manager of Presbyterian Health Services, Agogo, shared his heartfelt appreciation, affirming that Fidelity Bank’s timely assistance will play a pivotal role in their ongoing endeavours to improve their facilities as well as contribute to the overall well-being of their patients and the community at large. “We called on Fidelity Bank for financial support. They answered our call favourably by giving us the needed money to meet the deadline we had set for ourselves.
“Having a complete diagnostic centre in the near future which would include MRI, renal, CT scan, endoscopy, ultrasound amongst others, the attainment of this height would push the agenda of attaining Tertiary status closer than ever. We also call on successful private individuals, to partner us to expand our services, as well as those who are interested in easing our accommodation pressure,” he said.
Fidelity Bank’s continued dedication to fostering sustainable healthcare solutions is a testament to its core values of integrity and community service. The bank remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting Ghana’s healthcare ecosystem and endeavours to forge enduring partnerships for the betterment of society.
