The Ghana Celebrity Impact Awards, a nouvelle award scheme, held its press launch at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall, on September 5, 2024. The award seeks to recognise and honour celebrities and brands who have used their fame and prominence to impact society positively.
National co-ordinator of the board, Mr. Lionel Lawson, welcomed all attendees and expressed sincere gratitude to them for making time to be there. He finally unveiled the official logo for the awards scheme to the admiration of all.
Mr. Kenneth Fiati, in his capacity as Director of Communications and Research and a member of the board, gave the keynote address, throwing more light on the need not only to make a name for oneself, but to use that popularity to touch lives and give back to the community. ‘’We seek to portray the heart and soul behind the fame”, he intimated. ‘’Fame is not just about what you achieve, but what you do for others,’’ he added.
The nomination process was intricately outlined by Board Chairman Mr. Eldridge Afari, who mentioned that the official nomination form can be accessed by visiting the website www.ghanacelebrityimpactawards.com , and submitted with all relevant documentation via the same website or at [email protected]

For individuals: Male Celebrity of the Year, Female Celebrity of the Year, Celebrity Music Artist of the Year, Celebrity Radio Personality of the Year, Celebrity Film Maker of the Year, Celebrity Sports Personality of the Year, Celebrity Actor of the Year, Celebrity TV Personality of the Year, Celebrity DJ of the Year,
Celebrity Instrumentalist of the Year, Celebrity Influencer of the Year, Celebrity Actress of the Year, Celebrity Dancer of the Year, Celebrity art (contemporary) of the Year, Celebrity Producer of the Year, Celebrity Comedian of the Year, Celebrity Poet of the Year and Celebrity Duo/Group of the Year.
For Companies, Brands, organisations: Impact CEO of the Year – Male and Female, Impact Women Advocacy Award, Impact Legend, Impact Humanitarian Leadership, Impact Youth Empowerment, Impact in Gender Equality, Impact in Health and Wellness, Impact in Architecture, Impact Migration Management Award, and Impact Shelter Award.
After nominations, the panel of esteemed judges will shortlist selected finalists for voting. All nominees – except for shortlisted companies – will be published on www.ghanacelebrityimpactawards.com and other media platforms. Public voting represents 40 percent and the academy voting represents 60 percent of the votes.
The voting process, as explained by Dr. Phillip Gyimah, (Vote eazy) can be done either via USSD (*920*111#) at GH¢1per vote or via www.vote.ghanacelebrityimpactawards.com. All platforms are MTN, AT, Telecel, PayPal, Mastercard, VISA and Stope supported.
Dates, details and timelines to look out for prior to the awards ceremony include:
- 5th September, 2024 – 5th October, 2024 ( Nominations)
- 10th October, 2024 – 12th February, 2025 (Screening and selection)
- 29th March, 2025 – Official launch/ nominees announcement
- 26th April, 2025 – Ghana Celebrity Impact Summit
- 24th May, 2025 – Main Awards Ceremony
Further, there was a side attraction of as the viewing short endorsement videos by some well-known Ghanaian celebrities like Adjetey Annan, Emelia Brobbey, Bill Asamoah, among others. AlsoiIn attendance was elegant actress Martha Ankomah to grace the occasion.
