On a symbolic occasion, i2 Development Ghana Limited, the private developer for the much-anticipated Airport Prestige project, to enhance Kotoka International Airport’s skyline, has cut-sod for the construction work to begin with immediate effect.
The new development, christened Prestige, which is located adjacent to the Airport Shell Fuel Station and directly opposite the Marina Mall, is set to add to the beauty of the Airport skyline, redefine luxury living in Ghana’s capital, and play a key role in increasing the country’s tourism receipts.
Minister for Works and Housing, Francis Asenso-Boakye, in remarks delivered on his behalf by the Director-General of the ministry, Rev. Steve Osei, at the sod-cutting ceremony, mentioned that the government is excited to partner with the private sector for such a project as it would among other things create over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs beginning from construction to finishing, interior decoration and as staff of offices and shopping centres among other businesses that will operate in the enclave.
Chairman of i2 Development Ghana Limited, Nabil Al-Ahmad, stressed that the project is scheduled to be completed within three years from the sod-cutting date and when completed would be the biggest apartment in the airport enclave in terms of capacity and its unique architectural design would also be an important tourist attraction component.
The project is expected to cater for the ultimate luxury living whether one opts for a studio, one or two-bedroom, or a penthouse at an affordable rate.
Casa Trasacco is a preferred partner for the project and will add a touch of elegance, as they have come to be known for, for each apartment curated within the Prestige. With the strong choice of renowned Michelleti and Co. as the general contractors, the quality of the project is never in doubt.
The Prestige project’s location means all the best Accra has to offer in terms of leisure, business, and travelers are all a minute away. Talk about the famous shopping malls, restaurants, nightclubs, offices of major international companies operating in Ghana, and of course, the Kotoka International Airport are all within reach in a one-to-two-minute drive around.
When completed, the architectural design detailing the lush green spaces on the ground, on each of the levels, and the incorporation of sustainable open spaces as part of the Prestige, will come to bear and create a luxury sanctuary within the city for residents and pleasure the eyes of beholders.
The importance of modern, sustainable, plush offices, residential properties, and hotels within the Kotoka International Airport vicinity, and indeed in major airports in Africa, cannot be overstated when it comes to the growth of tourism, aviation, and allied businesses. These properties play a crucial role in supporting and attracting visitors, facilitating travel, and fostering economic development.
Placing plush residential properties and hotels near airports provides convenient and easy access for travelers. This accessibility allows tourists, business travelers, and aviation professionals to conveniently stay close to the airport, saving time and reducing travel-related stress. This proximity encourages more visitors to explore Ghana, as they can easily reach their accommodations upon arrival, resulting in increased tourism and economic growth.
Accra’s Kotoka International Airport enclave has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past two decades in line with the growth in the aviation and hospitality sub-sectors and this new addition will further enhance the country’s image as the preferred destination in Sub-Sahara Africa.
