
The Northern Regional Police Command, through an intelligence-led operation, has arrested three suspects for alleged weapon smuggling in Savelugu, in the Northern Region.
The suspects, identified as Gaba Abdallah Alhassan, Alhassan Abdallah, and Alhassan Abdul Kudus, were arrested on 1st May 2025 from their respective hideouts.
Police retrieved from them one AK-47 rifle, one (1) SMG, one Smith & Wesson SD40 VE pistol, one single-barrel gun, two magazines, fifteen (15) rounds of AK-47 ammunition, thirteen rounds of pistol ammunition, an additional twenty-seven rounds of ammunition, and five rounds of BB cartridges.
The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
They will be taken through the due process of the law to face justice.
