Mahama is laying a solid foundation to boost Agric sector – Mustapha Gbande

Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, Mustapha Gbande has applauded President Mahama for his initiatives for the agriculture sector so far since 100 days into office.

Speaking on Hot Issues on TV3, Sunday, April 20, 2025, the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC said the initiatives announced thus far; which is the Feed Ghana Program and the ‘Nkoko Nkitinkiti’ initiative are a testament of President Mahama’s “solid” commitment to empower Ghanaian farmers.

According to Gbande, these initiatives will provide incentives for farmers in order to boost the Agric sector in the long run.

“Today, a solid foundation is being laid to feed this country through poultry, through other Agric incentives. President Mahama has spoken about mechanization so that promise he made to Ghanaians was re-echoed to Ghanaians during the launch of the programme to say we are going to create Agric service centers so budget have been read and allocations will be made, importations will be made and farmers in Ghana would have a foundation to boast of government’s incentives to boost the Agric sector,” he said.

President John Dramani Mahama’s Poultry Revitalization Program, also known as “Nkoko Nkitinkiti,” aims to boost Ghana’s poultry industry by supporting 50 anchor farmers to produce 4 million birds, equivalent to 10,000 metric tons of chicken.

This initiative is part of the broader Feed Ghana Programme, which focuses on enhancing food production, guaranteeing food security, and supplying raw materials to industries.
