Nobody should compare me with any rapper in Africa and beyond – Medikal

Ghanaian rapper Medikal has spoken against being compared with other rap musicians. The rapper in a tweet on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 cautioned social media users not to compare him with rappers in Africa and beyond.

“Make una never compare me to any rapper for Ghana, Africa and beyond, nobody be my mate!” he wrote in pidgin.

He further intimated that such comparisons only denigrates his craft and accomplishments in the music industry, stating that not even Kwesi Arthur should be compared with him.

“Never ever compare me to any artiste, not Kwesi Arthur or anyone. Don’t even dare, are you guys fukn mad?” Medikal posted.

His tweet is believed to be in promotion of his recently released music video, ‘Welcome to Africa.’

However, while some comments from social media users disagree with the rappers statement, others believe he’s accomplished such feat.

One user tweeted: “You’re not there yet bro you have the potentials you need little Branding and sauce.”

Another wrote: “Nobody? No exceptions? Lol you are funny bro.”

“Cause you don’t even have a mate…you aren’t even there yet,” another tweet read.

His fans cheered him on. “Topper top!! too stubborn,” one fan commented.

“True true ebi true oh cuz I always enjoy when listening to Medikal,” another fan wrote.

Medikal and Kwesi Arthur have previously collaborated on several successful projects, including “Grind Day Remix,” “Different,” and other notable hit songs.
