Arsenal legend and current pundit Thierry Henry had high praise for Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo after his match-winning performance against Fulham.
The Ghanaian forward scored the only goal of the game, guiding Bournemouth to a vital 1-0 victory and taking his personal tally to eight goals and four assists this season.
His consistent form hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Henry singling him out post-match.
“I’ve been watching you for a long time,” Henry said. “I always felt consistency was the missing piece, but now you’re starting to show what you’re really capable of.”
Semenyo, reflecting on his progress, admitted he still sees room for improvement.
“I feel like I should be getting more,” he said. “There have been chances where I should’ve placed the ball instead of smashing it. I know the qualities I have and believe I can get better numbers. Hopefully, with the five or six games left, I can add a few more goals and assists.”
Bournemouth’s win sees them leapfrog Fulham into eighth place, keeping them firmly in the hunt for a spot in Europe next season. The victory also means the Cherries have equaled their best-ever Premier League points tally of 48 , a mark they originally set last season.
As for Fulham, the defeat is a heavy blow to their fading hopes of a top-four finish and UEFA Champions League qualification.
