
The confirmation of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) nominees for the Northern and Savannah Regions officially commenced today.
Although nominees for Kpandai and Tatale-Sanguli in the Northern Region, and Bole District in the Savannah Region are yet to be announced, the confirmation process has begun across 20 assemblies in the two regions.
In the Northern Region, the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly and Kumbungu District Assembly conducted their confirmation sessions on day one.
Nominee for the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, Alhaji Adam Abubakar Takoro, and nominee for the Kumbungu District Assembly, Alhaji Yakubu Imoro Kakpagu, both secured 100 percent confirmation from all assembly members present and voting.

In the Savannah Region, nominees for the Central Gonja and North Gonja Districts were also confirmed.
The nominee for the Central Gonja District Assembly, Mahama Fuseini, received 42 Yes votes against 1 No vote, while the nominee for North Gonja District, Abdullai Nashiru, achieved 100 percent confirmation.
The East Gonja Municipal Assembly and North East Gonja District in the Savannah Region are scheduled to hold their confirmation sessions tomorrow, April 15. The Yendi Municipal Assembly in the Northern Region is also set to conduct its confirmation on the same day.
By the end of the week, 14 out of 16 assemblies in the Northern Region and 6 out of 7 assemblies in the Savannah Region are expected to complete the confirmation process.
