
Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams was pleased with the level of football on show in Friday’s Division One Zone three League game between Attram De Visser and Hohoe United.
The said game, which took place at the Tuba Astro Turf, drew hundreds of fans to Kasoa due to the weight of the tie.
Table toppers Hohoe United needed a win to consolidate their lead at the top, while Attram De Visser were in dire need of a win to pull clear of the relegation zone.
Attram De Visser emerged victors after scoring from the spot in the second half, giving them a breather in Division One Zone three.
In attendance at the gigantic clash were Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, together with Black Stars assistant coach John Paintsil.
The pair watched on as both sides competed in the tight contest.
While addressing the media, the Minister praised the level of competition in the league, stating.
“We are impressed with the quality of play. Indeed, it looks like the Division One competition looks very healthy and quite interesting than sometimes when you watch the Premier League.”
“I’ve watched some of the Premier clubs and the Division One clubs, and I’ve really enjoyed the quality of play.”
Kofi Adams’ appearance at the venue was a timely reminder of his commitment to improving grassroot football and paying equal attention to all sports in Ghana.
