Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George has outlined what he termed as a three-pronged strategy intended to reform the Ghana Post.
The Minister who made the announcement at a press briefing on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 said these reforms were informed by an internal readiness assessment.
The first of the strategy is to update existing infrastructure and information systems to reflect technological advancements and ensure resilience against cybersecurity threats.
The second step is to modernise logistics systems to guarantee faster and more reliable delivery across all regions.
This will be followed by an expansion of service offerings to include e commerce support, secure parcel handling, and access to critical public services.
“These reforms will transform Ghana Post into a vital enabler of e-commerce, cross-border trade, and citizen access to essential government services, laying the foundation for a more connected and efficient national economy,” the Minister said.
The Minister further stated that steps have been taken to better position Ghana Post to take advantage of the increased e-commerce activity and to ensure Ghana’s readiness to take full advantage of trading under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
“Plans are underway to strengthen the backbone of domestic and cross-border trade logistics, especially for small businesses across the Country looking to expand beyond national borders,” he added.
