Popular Ghanaian songstress and ‘Too Late’ hitmaker, Wendy Shay, has once again warmed the hearts of Ghanaians with a touching gesture towards a young fan whose passion and talent went viral on social media.
The rising star, Tracy Shay, captured national attention after a video of her dancing and singing passionately to Wendy Shay’s performance during a visit to her school surfaced online.
The video quickly went viral, drawing praise from fans and industry players alike.
Moved by the young girl’s enthusiasm and raw talent, Wendy Shay paid a second visit to the school to personally express her gratitude and admiration.
During the visit, she made a heartfelt announcement that she would be sponsoring Tracy Shay’s education from Class 5 all the way to the university level.
“About a week ago, I came here to this school to perform. And during my performance, there was this talented, beautiful shining star dancing and singing passionately to my song ‘Too Late’.
“The video gained so much attention and is still trending,” Wendy Shay said to cheers from the pupils.
“So I am here today to say thank you and reward my little star, my shining star, Tracy. Give it up for Tracy, everybody!
“To show my appreciation, I have decided that I am going to sponsor your education from Class 5 to the university.”
In addition to the scholarship pledge, Wendy Shay also donated an undisclosed sum of money, to Tracy along with some stationeries and branded souvenirs for Tracy and her schoolmates.
Tracy’s mother, Barbara Oteng who was present during the announcement, was visibly emotional and expressed deep gratitude for the unexpected blessing.
“If you see me crying, it is because I never expected this. God has done this indeed,” she said tearfully.
Fans have since taken to social media to applaud Wendy Shay not only for recognizing young talent but also for actively investing in the future of a promising star.
