The Korle Bu Senior Staff Association (KOSSA) has extended their heartfelt congratulations to Kwabena Mintah Akandoh on his appointment as the substantive Minister of Health.
Having served as a ranking member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health, the Association said his deep knowledge and expertise in the sector make this appointment a well-deserved one.
“We are confident that your leadership, vision, and commitment to healthcare excellence will significantly impact the Ministry of Health. Your experience on the Health Committee has undoubtedly equipped you with valuable insights to drive meaningful reforms and improvements in our healthcare system,: a statement they issued said.
They highlighted that as the largest tertiary and quaternary hospital in the country, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has faced numerous challenges over the years.
Addressing these issues will require a visionary and transformative leader – one who can reposition this national asset to deliver world-class healthcare services to Ghanaians and beyond, the statement said.
“KOSSA, as a key stakeholder advocating for the welfare of staff and the advancement of the hospital, takes a keen interest in the leadership of Korle Bu. We firmly believe that under your stewardship, and with the right leadership at the hospital, we can restore Korle Bu to its former glory and ensure it delivers the highest standard of care to our cherished clients.
“We trust that you will engage extensively with all relevant stakeholders in selecting the next leadership team for Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. KOSSA remains open and ready for discussions and collaborations whenever necessary.
“Once again, congratulations on your well-earned appointment. We wish you every success in your new role and look forward to working closely with you to advance the healthcare sector in Ghana,” the statement stressed.
