The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has issued an official apology to passengers who experienced an unexpected delay at the Kotoka International Airport’s Terminal 2 on Monday, April 7, 2025, due to an operational hitch.
According to the statement released by GACL Management, passengers on Passion Air flight 143 from Kumasi, which arrived at 7:56am, were temporarily stranded and unable to access the domestic arrival hall as a result of a locked door at the main arrival gate.
“Management of GACL extends sincere apologies to passengers who experienced the operational hitch on arrival at KIA,” the statement read.
GACL has assured the public that the cause of the incident is currently under investigation. Management has also promised that appropriate corrective measures will be implemented to prevent any recurrence.
“The cause of the hitch is being investigated by Management, following which measures including necessary disciplinary action will be meted out to ensure such incidents do not recur,” the statement added.
The incident, though brief, disrupted normal passenger flow at the domestic terminal, drawing public concern over airport operations and passenger experience.
GACL reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of operational efficiency and customer service across all its terminals nationwide.
