PSG, still unbeaten in domestic competition, have secured their 13th Ligue 1 title—marking their fourth consecutive championship and the second under Luis Enrique’s leadership after beating Angers 1-0 at the Parc de Princess.
PSG required only a draw against Angers, but Desire Doug’s lone goal at the festive Parc des Princes, bathed in sunlight, secured the win, taking their season tally to 23 victories from 28 games, with 80 goals scored and 26 conceded.
Undefeated so far this season, PSG have only drawn six times and are averaging nearly three goals per match (2.8), showcasing a team that has functioned flawlessly from start to finish.
In their inaugural season following Kylian Mbappé’s departure, the French powerhouse has reasserted its domestic supremacy, a trend they’ve maintained since 2013, with only Monaco (2017) and Lille (2021) interrupting their title reign during that period.
This season’s triumph is a testament to the team’s collective strength, as they’ve successfully bridged the gap left by the departure of Kylian Mbappé, the prolific forward who scored 256 goals and added 98 assists in 308 appearances for PSG before joining Real Madrid.
Gianluigi Donnarumma has been outstanding, delivering his best form since joining Paris, while Ousmane Dembele has blossomed into the leader he never fully became at Barcelona, contributing 32 goals and seven assists in 40 appearances.
Bracola, new signing Due, Vitinha, and academy prodigy Zaire-Emery have all played a crucial role in PSG’s title-winning campaign.
This triumph is PSG’s 11th French championship since Qatari backers QSI took over the club in 2011, with the other two coming in 1986 and ’94.
With the league title secured, the French champions can now shift their focus to the Champions League, a competition where they’re still seeking their maiden trophy.
PSG can also secure a second straight domestic double under Spanish coach Luis Enrique by beating Reims in the French Cup final on May 24.
