Residents of Tamale and its surrounding communities will have to brace themselves for severe water crisis as Ghana Water Limited announces reduced water supply due to ongoing maintenance work at the Dalun Headworks.
This comes few days after the MD of the company Adam Mutawakilu visited the region
In a statement issued by GWL’s Northern Regional office, the company attributed the situation to the failure of key equipment, particularly water pumps, which has significantly impacted production capacity.
The supply disruption will take effect from Friday, March 28, 2025, at 2:00pm , with full restoration expected by Thursday, April 4, 2025.
Management from the Northern Regional Office of GWL have however assured the public that engineers and technicians are working diligently to resolve the issue within the stipulated timeframe.
In the interim, residents have been urged to store and conserve water to mitigate the impact of the shortage.
“The company regrets the inconvenience caused and remains committed to restoring normal water supply as quickly as possible,” the statement reads.
