
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has hosted the Russian Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Sergei Berdnikov.
They discussed a wide range of issues under our bilateral cooperation.
After the meeting, Mr Ablakwa wrote on his X page that “Ghana will continue to pursue our longstanding foreign policy of positive neutrality, and serve as a credible voice for global peace.”
Prior to this engagement, he had separate talks with the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Georgia on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue in India.
He stated that Ukraine is seeking to restore medical scholarship opportunities and an expanded bilateral educational partnership agreement with Ghana after the war.
“We also discussed mutually beneficial agribusiness initiatives, particularly as Ukraine seeks to quickly rebuild its economy,” he wrote on X.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasized that his country is all for ending the war with Russia this year, and that they would not be an obstacle for lasting peace, Mr Ablakwa further stated.

Georgia on the other hand, he said, is considering establishing diplomatic presence in Accra.
“We additionally explored new agreements to cover the educational, agricultural and tourism sectors of our two countries.
“I am deeply grateful to His Excellency Andrii Sybiha of Ukraine and Her Excellency Maka Botchorishvili of Georgia for their warmth and great respect for Ghana.”
