Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged his players to give their maximum effort in Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar, describing the match as a “small final.”
Ghana, currently leading Group I with 12 points, will face Madagascar, who are just two points behind, on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Al Hoceima Stadium in Morocco.
Speaking in an interview with 3Sports’ Mutala Yakubu, Otto Addo emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and intensity after their dominant 5-0 victory over Chad last Friday.
“I know everybody is excited, everybody was happy about our last win, but we still have a long way to go. We need everyone to be on their toes. We don’t need 98% or 99%, we need 100%,” Addo said.
He stressed that a victory against Madagascar would put Ghana in a strong position to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
“This is like a small final, and if we win this game, then we really will be on course,” he added.
With just five matches played, a win for Ghana would significantly boost their chances of securing qualification for the tournament.
