Spokesperson to Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Sulemana Issifu has disclosed that suspect in the death of Ahmed Suale, Daniel Owusu Koranteng was a former employee of Investigative media firm, Tiger Eye PI.
Koranteng, a 35-year-old businessman, has been remanded in custody by the Madina District Court after being provisionally charged with murder.
Koranteng is alleged to have sold Ahmed Suale’s pictures to Kennedy Agyapong which were later aired on Net2 TV, where Kennedy Agyapong called for retribution against the journalist.
According to Sulemana Issifu, Daniel Owusu Koranteng was sacked from Tiger Eye PI in 2017 for misconduct but remained friends with Ahmed Suale and frequent his house until his death.
“This is an interesting development and we think it should have happened long ago…First of all, I am not a member of Tiger Eye PI. I’m the spokesperson of Anas. Daniel was a member of Tiger Eye PI and was sacked for misconduct as far back as 2017 and he still used to be friends with Ahmed and frequent his house until all these happened.
“These things were things that could have come up long before now…yes, we (Tiger Eye PI) knew all these things and this is a matter of public record but people did not pay attention to it,” he told Keminni Amanor on TV3’s News Central, March 19, 2025.

However, Daniel Koranteng, also known as Nana Amakye, has denied allegations that he sold photographs of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale to Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong before Suale’s 2019 murder.
According to the prosecution, while Koranteng admitted knowing Suale, visiting Kennedy Agyapong, and taking photos with Suale, he denied selling any photographs to anyone.
“He admitted knowing the deceased, visiting Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, and taking photographs with the deceased but denied selling the photographs to anyone,” the prosecution told the court.
The prosecution further alleges that Koranteng fled to the United Kingdom in 2019 after declining multiple police invitations. He later returned to Ghana and was arrested in Amasaman on March 15, 2025, following intelligence reports.
The court has remanded him into custody pending further investigations, with committal proceedings set for April 1, 2025.
“During the investigation, the accused declined multiple police invitations and later fled to the United Kingdom in August 2019. He subsequently returned to Ghana, and intelligence led to his arrest in Amasaman on March 15, 2025,” prosecutors stated.

Meanwhile, Koranteng’s lawyer, Kofi Essel Hackman, has also strongly criticized the Madina District Court’s decision to charge his client with murder, calling it a “shambolic” charge driven by hearsay and ulterior motives.
“The police hurriedly put a charge together on the offense of murder. First, they were talking about abetment; now, we are talking about a surprise charge sheet of one count of murder. They prayed to the court to remand our client with no basis. I describe this as a shambolic charge sheet,” Essel stated.
