CR: Fire outbreak renders 85-year-old woman homeless

Abena Ampomah, an 85-year-old lady has been rendered homeless as a result of a fire that swept through her two-bedroom apartment at Twifo Abodom in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region.

While investigations are yet to be conducted, locals who helped to douse the fire say it broke out from the “main switch of the house’s electrical system a few moments after power was restored following a weeklong outage in the area”.

Even though neighbors of the victim managed to rescue her and made frantic efforts to douse the fire, nothing including electrical gadgets and other personal belongings of the victim could be salvaged.

This has rendered her homeless.

“I have been left with nothing. I’ve lost all my clothing, TV set and other electrical appliances. All items in my two-bedroom apartment have been destroyed. So, it’s a very difficult situation for me,” said Abena Ampomah.
