
Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku has been appointed as the Acting Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).
Following the announcement, she expressed deep gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama, describing the role as both an honor and a call to serve.
“Thank you, President John Dramani Mahama, for your trust and confidence. I am deeply honored, sir,” she stated.
Darko-Opoku highlighted the critical role of the GACL in Ghana’s economic and infrastructural development, emphasizing that the company serves as a gateway to the nation and plays a vital role in trade, tourism, and investment.
“The Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) is a critical player when it comes to Ghana’s economic and infrastructural development. It is a gateway to our beautiful country and a key trade, tourism, and investment driver,” she noted.

Acknowledging the immense responsibility of her new position, she assured that she would work alongside her colleagues to ensure Ghana’s airports remain efficient, world-class, and provide exceptional passenger experiences.
“I step into this role fully aware of its immense responsibility, and I am ready, working with my colleagues, to give my utmost to ensure that our airports remain efficient and world-class and offer exceptional passenger and customer experience to our clients,” she affirmed.
Bringing Mahama’s Aviation Vision to Life
Darko-Opoku pledged to contribute towards realizing President Mahama’s vision of advancing Ghana’s aviation sector and enhancing its global competitiveness.
“Together, we will bring life to President Mahama’s vision to elevate Ghana’s aviation industry to even greater heights,” she stated.
