Security Analyst, Richard Kumadoe has called for a review of the strategy adopted in resolving Bawku conflict.
The Security Analyst believes that government needs to rebuild the security management operations in the area.
Speaking in an interview on TV3’s New Day, Tuesday, March 18, he said the first step for President Mahama is to meet with all security heads in charge of resolving the conflict.
“We would need to change the methodology we have used on the ground for all these years and we need to take personal security of personalities or people involved in the frontline serious,” he stated.
According to him, some security personnel may be experiencing fatigue and lack motivation continue to resolve the conflict after being on the frontline for a long time and the numerous failed attempts.
“I seriously believe that fatigue has set in and they might lose their guard sometimes or they might get complicated in some other complications that goes beyond law enforcement,” he noted.
Richard Kumadoe wants government to reclassify the hostile zones in Bawku for security officers to be mindful of going beyond the controlled environment.

He further commended President Mahama for appointing new Acting Service Chiefs for the Ghana Armed Forces as he believes this will add up to the re-strategizing in resolving the Bawku conflict.
His comment follows reports of four persons who lost their lives in a land dispute on March 17. According to eyewitnesses, the conflict began when a group of individuals from the Namani community attempted to cultivate the disputed land by raising yam mounds.
However, they were allegedly ambushed and shot by persons believed to be from the Kumani community, leaving three people dead on the spot.
The situation quickly escalated into a broader communal clash between the Sanbultiib and Kanjotiib communities, with reports of sporadic gunfire lasting for several hours.
