Gunmen have killed three people in Gumyoko, a suburb of the Binduri District in the Upper East Region.
Security sources confirmed the incident, stating that unidentified gunmen attacked houses in the community on the night of Saturday, March 8, 2025.
According to the security sources, the attackers, who arrived on motorcycles, opened fire, killing two people instantly and injuring two others. One of the injured victims later succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.
The other injured person remains hospitalized at an undisclosed facility and is currently receiving treatment.
The motive behind the deadly attack remains unclear. However, security officials suspect it may be linked to the resurgence of the Bawku conflict, which has already claimed hundreds of lives and caused significant destruction to property.
