President John Dramani Mahama has assured that Ghana’s foreign policy towards the United Kingdom will remain unchanged despite the country’s transition to a new administration.

He made this declaration during a meeting with UK Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, who paid a courtesy call on him as part of her two-day visit to Ghana on Friday, February 21.

During their discussions, President Mahama emphasized his government’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between Ghana and the UK, noting that both countries share a long history of cooperation in trade, investment, and development.

“Our government remains dedicated to deepening our engagement with the UK in areas that drive economic growth and mutual prosperity,” Mahama stated.

Angela Rayner’s visit is an indication of the UK’s continued interest in fostering strong bilateral relations with Ghana, particularly in trade, investment, and security cooperation.

Her discussions with President Mahama also touched on strategies for boosting economic collaboration and supporting Ghana’s development agenda.

The reaffirmation of diplomatic ties signals stability in Ghana-UK relations, ensuring ongoing collaboration in key sectors such as finance, infrastructure, and governance reforms.
