The Takoradi Area Branch Manager of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Mr Kwesi Opoku Mintah, has called on employers to prioritize the payment of workers’ pension contributions to secure their future.
Speaking on the matter, Mr. Mintah emphasized that ensuring regular SSNIT contributions is not only a legal requirement but also essential for employees’ financial security and the long-term success of businesses.
“If you fail to pay your staff”s SSNIT contributions, you are jeopardizing their future. It is painful for an employee to work without knowing their SSNIT contributions are not being paid,” he stated.
He also revealed that SSNIT has special support packages for struggling businesses to help them meet their contribution obligations.
He urged employers to take advantage of these initiatives rather than neglecting their workers’ welfare.
Mr. Mintah made this appeal during a courtesy visit to Mayandy, a business that has remained a loyal contributor to the scheme. The visit was part of SSNIT’s Valentine’s Day appreciation initiative, aimed at recognizing and encouraging businesses that are committed to their employees’ future.
Mary Andra Nokolawu, a representative of Mayandy, expressed gratitude for the recognition and urged employers to consistently pay their workers’ SSNIT contributions.
