The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced that it is investigating an alleged corruption offences at the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) involving the former Chief Executive Officer of NPA, Mustapha Abdul Hamid and 2 others.
At a press briefing on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the OSP noted that an alleged embezzlement of a GHC1.3billion from the Unified Petroleum Pricing Fund (UPPF) at the NPA is currently under investigation.
The three other individuals included in the investigation are; the Coordinator of the UPPF, Mr. Jacob Amoah, NPA staff, Freda Acheampong and another staff, Wendy Ashong Newman.
“The OSP has also commenced investigation into suspected corruption and corruption-related offences in respect of an alleged embezzlement of a GHC1.3billion from the Unified Petroleum Pricing Fund (UPPF) at the National Petroleum Authority.
“The investigation primarily targets the following persons; the Coordinator of the UPPF, Mr. Jacob Amoah, NPA Staff, Freda Acheampong, NPA Staff, Wendy Ashong Newman and the former Chief Executive Officer of NPA, Mustapha Abdul Hamid,” the OSP said.
