One person is feared dead in a vehicular accident which occurred in Ho Monday evening with about six others left critically injured.
The injured include some school children who were onboard a pragya motor known as ‘Mahama-Can-Do’ on their way from school when it collided with an L200 Mitsubishi pickup vehicle with registration number GJ 3226-21 at about 4:10pm on the Ho stadium to Kabore junction road.
A woman, yet to be identified, who was onboard the pragia with the school children was feared dead.
The pragia rider and occupants of the pickup vehicle also sustained degrees of injury.
“I saw the pickup pass from the stadium stretch towards the Kabore side and the next minute, I heard a loud collision only to realize the pickup crashed into a pragia. I rushed to the scene to help but it appeared the woman died on the spot,” an eyewitness told our reporter.
“Other people joined to help rescue them before the ambulance service arrived and took the injured to the hospital but because the woman was already dead, the ambulance ignored,” he added.
Soon after, police arrived at the scene to convey the body and also clear the road for traffic flow.
Further checks indicate that three of the victims were sent to the Ho Teaching Hospital including one of the school children who was admitted into the paediatric emergency unit.
