Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo has completed a loan move from Celta Vigo to Real Valladolid for the remainder of the season.
Aidoo, who has been a key figure at Celta Vigo since joining in 2019, leaves after making 138 appearances across LaLiga and Copa del Rey, contributing four goals and two assists. His commitment on and off the pitch made him a fan favourite in Vigo.
The 28-year-old has struggled for game time this season due to a long-term injury, featuring for just one minute since his return.
With Valladolid battling relegation, Aidoo’s experience and defensive qualities could be crucial in their survival bid.
RC Celta expressed gratitude for his contributions and wished him success in this new chapter.
Aidoo began his European career in 2015, joining Swedish side Hammarby from Ghanaian club Inter Allies.
He moved to Belgian outfit KRC Genk in the 2017/18 season before signing for RC Celta in 2019/20, where he played a key role in his early years at the club.
