President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama has appointed Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah as the Acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The appointment, effective January 27, 2025, was confirmed through an official letter from the Office of the President, signed by Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., Secretary to the President.
Dapilah’s appointment is in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 11(1) of the Economic and Organised Crime Act, 2010 (Act 804).
His new role will be in effect pending the receipt of constitutionally required advice from EOCO’s governing board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
As the Acting Executive Director, Dapilah is expected to lead EOCO’s efforts in investigating and preventing organized crime, corruption, and financial fraud in Ghana.
His leadership comes at a crucial time when the government is prioritizing accountability and transparency in governance.
The Office of the President has formally congratulated Dapilah and requested his acceptance of the appointment within 14 days of receiving the official letter.
