The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr. Eric Nkansah has been relieved of his duties, according to 3news.com‘s sources within government.
Dr. Nkansah, who held the position since his appointment in January 2023, brought a multifaceted career background to the role. Between 2000 and 2006, he worked as a subject teacher at Christian Education Complex Junior High School and Kintampo Senior High School in Kintampo. In addition to his banking career, Dr. Nkansah lectured part-time at the Business School of Garden City University College, Kumasi, starting in 2010.
The government has appointed Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, the Provost of the College of Education at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), as the new Director-General of GES. With a wealth of academic and administrative experience, Prof. Davis is expected to bring a fresh perspective and strong leadership to Ghana’s education system.
