President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, is in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in a high-level meeting on African Union (AU) institutional reforms.
The two-day event, scheduled from January 27-28, 2025, will bring together African leaders and policymakers to discuss strategies for strengthening the AU’s efficiency and operations.
As a former Chairperson of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President Mahama is expected to contribute his expertise on governance and institutional reforms in Africa.
Key issues that would be discussed include improving the AU’s decision-making processes, increasing financial independence, and enhancing collaboration among member states.
During his visit, President Mahama is also expected to engage in bilateral talks with Kenyan officials and other leaders from Africa to deepen ties between Ghana and them.
