Ghanaian high jumper Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah emerged as the headline act at the 49th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards, winning the coveted Sports Personality of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year titles.
The prestigious event, held on January 24, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre, celebrated outstanding sportsmen and women for their achievements in 2024.
Barcelona B midfielder Abdul Aziz Issah also made a strong impression, claiming both the Prospect of the Year and Male Footballer of the Year accolades.
Other notable winners included Ghana’s Athletics Relay Team, named National Team of the Year, and Black Satellites coach Desmond Ofei, who secured Coach of the Year honors.
The gala reaffirmed its legacy as Ghana’s longest-running awards scheme, recognizing excellence across various sports disciplines.
