The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western North Region has ended a rigorous vetting process for the selection of Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs).
A nine-member vetting committee was constituted in line with the guidelines issued by the party’s General Secretary to assess 68 applicants from the region’s nine constituencies.
The vetting process was conducted with transparency and fairness to ensure that the party selects competent and capable individuals to lead municipal and district administrations across the region.
The vetting, which spanned two days, identified the top three successful candidates from each constituency. Below are the results:

The Chairman of Western North NDC and Vetting Committee, Michael Aidoo, commended candidates and their supporters for comporting themselves throughout the process.
He said the exercise was to ensure fairness among all the party members in the region. He said the Committee members adhered to the guidelines for the vetting of applicants.
The decision by the party to vet MMDCEs has brought unity within districts and rally citizens around common developmental goals.
Competence and relevant experience of applicants were critically assessed to ensure that those selected can manage the complexities of their roles effectively.
The party leaders emphasised the importance of strict adherence to the guidelines and full cooperation from the committee members to uphold the integrity of the process.
