President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Petroleum Commission.
The appointment, made in accordance with Article 195(1) of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution and Section 11(1) of the Petroleum Commission Act, 2011 (Act 821), was announced in a letter signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President.
Victoria Hardcastle’s appointment is pending the constitutionally required advice from the Board of the Petroleum Commission in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
Her tenure begins on January 17, 2025.
The letter congratulated Ms. Hardcastle on her new role and highlighted the President’s confidence in her capabilities to lead the commission effectively.
The communication was copied to key government offices, including the Vice President, the Chief of Staff, the Minister of Energy and Green Transition, the Board Chairman of the Petroleum Commission, and the Chairperson of the Public Services Commission.
