Southampton coach Ivan Juric has heaped praise on Kamaldeen Sulemana following his impressive performance against Manchester United on Thursday night at Old Trafford.
Despite the Saints’ 3-1 defeat, Sulemana’s display was a shining light, and Juric believes the Ghanaian winger is finally starting to fulfill his potential.
“Since I arrived here, he’s working well,” Juric said. “I think he had quality. I don’t know why in these two years he didn’t express himself. Now he has to just continue playing like this, he’s really good.”

Juric’s words are a testament to Sulemana’s hard work and dedication. The winger has struggled to find consistency in his performances since joining Southampton, but recent games have seen him take a significant step forward. His pace, skill, and vision are causing problems for opposing defenses, and Juric will be hoping that he can maintain this level of performance in the coming weeks.
Kamaldeen Sulemana attempted the most dribbles in the game (6) and completed the most dribbled in the game (5).Simply put, Sulemana was taking off from where his Ghana teammate Fatawu Issahaku left off. Issahaku run Manchester United to the ground, completing the most dribbles in the league (13) for Leicester.
Kamaldeen’s trickery and performances did not go unnoticed, with the home side’s coach heralding the Ghanaian as well.
“They did a very good job, Southampton, creating space between the lines. Their number 20 [Sulemana] with a lot of space behind; we had some difficulties to stop that player.”
Sulemana’s resurgence is a boost for Southampton, who are looking to climb up from the foot of the Premier League table. With the Ghanaian winger firing on all cylinders, the Saints may have found the spark they need to ignite their season. As Juric said, Sulemana just needs to “continue playing like this,” and the sky could be the limit for the talented winger.
