Eric Adakanu aged 32 has been arrested by police in the Central Region over the alleged murder of his wife, Ayisha Mumuni, also 32 years old.
The suspect according to police sources attempted to escape after inflicting machete wounds on the victim, leading to her death but was arrested by personnel of the Kasoa Divisional Police Command.
The culprit, Eric Adakanu, is now in the grips of the Bawjiase District Police Command where he is assisting in investigations.
His wife now deceased, travelled from Accra to spend the Christmas and New Year festivities with his senior brother at Bawjiase in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region, but Eric constantly accused her of extra marital affairs.
In one of such instances, the suspect, following heated exchanges with the deceased, fetched a machete from their room and attacked her, leading to the immediate death of the mother of three.
Remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Police Hospital’s morgue in Accra while investigations continue.
