The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the ransacking of the home and office of Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West and the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation.
The incident occurred shortly after Owusu-Ekuful lost her parliamentary seat in the 2024 general elections.
Reports indicate that unknown individuals broke into her residence and office, causing significant damage and disarray. Videos circulating on social media show the aftermath, with documents scattered and furniture overturned.
The motive behind the ransacking remains unclear, but it has raised concerns about the safety and security of political figures in the aftermath of an elections.

The police have condemned the act and assured the public that they are working diligently to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. They have also called on anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
In a related development, the police have also asked the public to ignore false claims that the NPP office in Kasoa has been vandalised.
Meanwhile, President-elect, John Dramani Mahama has urged all citizens, especially supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain calm and refrain from engaging in unlawful activities.
